Island Art Opening
on June 18, 2022

EVENT REGISTRATION CLOSED

True Places will debut a series of outdoor, pop up experiential art shows in unexpected places in Richmond in 2022. The first pop up will take place on Sharp’s Island on June 18, 2022 and will feature the first four artists participating in the True Places fine art series – Ed Trask, Auz Miles, Steve Hedberg, and Melissa Burgess. And it's FREE.

Our flagship event will allow “golden ticket” holders an opportunity to paddle to Sharp’s Island independently or with a guide to shop original artwork that will be displayed among the trees and rocks of beautiful Sharp’s Island. Richmond-based musicians will perform on the sandy beach on Sharp’s Island and a local chef will prepare hors d’oeuvres by the fire pit.

The sale of the original works featured in the True Places series will benefit local nonprofits including Keep Virginia Cozy, Blue Sky Fund, Friends of James River Park, and Beyond Boundaries.

*Bring your own boat or meet us next to the Mayo Bridge on the southside near the Southern States Silos and we'll paddle you over to Sharp's Island. We'll send additional details prior to the event or feel free to message us at 804-212-6639 or andy@richmondoutside.com.
